The Physician, the big screen adaptation of the bestseller of the same name by Noah Gordon, with over 21 million copies sold worldwide. It has an international cast led by Stellan Skarsgard, Ben Kingsley, Olivier Martinez and Tom Payne as the "physician" on whom the film focuses, to tell the story of Rob J. Cole.
The story of the protagonist of The Physician begins when, as an orphan he's adopted by a barber who taught him the trade, and he'll travel to England setting up shows to attract the public. When his adoptive father dies, Rob will be alone until he meets Merlin Benjamin, a Jewish doctor who Rob soon admires and who would soon introduce him to his mentor, the Persian scientist Ibn Sina.
Fascinated by medical science, Rob begins an exciting journey to Persia, where he'll pretend to be a Jew to study in a school that doesn't support Christians, living a life full of adventure and danger, but also of great satisfaction.
